A very simple baby biscuit with a nice hard texture for teething littles but dissolve after a minute of gnawing. I do buy baby snacks; favourites are Organix sweetcorn rings and their rice cakes are really good too. They are bringing out some baby biscuits soon which I will have to try. They have less trash in them than other brands and taste yummy. But, when I can, I like to make my own. These went down a treat and don’t have the dreaded sugar that I worry about little one having too much of.
Like I say, easy as pie. Well, easier.
- 175g plain flour
- 60g butter
- 1tsp cinnamon
- 1tsp ginger
- 1 small egg
- 1 dessert spn maple syrup or honey for over 1s. (you could leave this out)
I basically combined all this, chilled and rolled out about 1/2 cm thick before cutting into shapes.
Bake at 180c fan for around 8 minutes, but this really does depend on your cutter. You are looking for golden on the bottom and just going brown at the edges.
Cool and scoff. I mean cool and serve.
This makes about 24 small biscuits. I actually baked half and have frozen the other half of the dough for another tooth…I mean time.
