Blueberry vanilla heart donut pops


These heart donut pops are a fun snack that use just a few simple, healthy ingredients to create something really special for a birthday party, lunchbox or Valentine’s Day treat. You can buy donut pans really inexpensively online. Or, if you are in luck, like me, you might find a second hand donut maker that’s like new! Winner!

You will need:

For the donuts…

100g sr flour (I usually have 1/2 and 1/2 wholemeal and regular)

1 egg

2 tsp oil (I used coconut)

Approx 12oml milk of your choice – I

used coconut milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

A handful of blueberries (fresh or frozen)

1tsp sweetner – I used honey but date syrup or maple syrup is excellent for under 1’s

Donut pan or press

For the hearts…

Fruit leather or raw fruit bar

Nut butter or jam for sticking

Cake pop or lolly sticks



  • Mix your batter and share between the pan. If you are baking in the oven make sure you grease the donut pan well and bake at 180c fan (gas mark 4, 350f) for around 20 minutes.
  • To make the little hearts I used a fruit leather cut into a heart shape. I had a little cutter, but you could easily freestyle! I’ve also done the same using a raw fruit bar – just roll it out a little first.
  • These are easily stuck on with a blob of nut butter or jam if you are nut free.
  • To make these into a pop, just stick a cake pop stick through the centre and voila!
